In order to open an account at Galaxy, you must live, work, worship, study, or volunteer in Venango County. In addition, all of the immediate family members of the above also qualify. Immediate family members are defined as "spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, stepchild, stepparent, stepsibling, adopted child, legal guardian relationships, and persons living in the same household - this includes nannies, domestic workers, and foster children".
It is very simple to become a member once you qualify, as explained above. Just complete a membership card and deposit at least $50.00 ($5.00 for a youth account) into a share (savings) account. You are then eligible for the numerous services and benefits offered by Galaxy Federal Credit Union.
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means to you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
